Press Release Shooting in North Logan 2-7-2015
At approximately 11:50 PM on the 7th of February
2015 a report came into the Logan City Emergency Communications Center of a vehicle
crash with injuries at 1830 East Canyon
Ridge Driver in North Logan, Utah. Emergency
personnel responded. As officer reached to
the scene they discovered a white 4dr Subaru up on the park strip and sidewalk
of 1830 East Canyon Ridge Drive. The
engine was still running. The female passenger
was determined to be deceased. The driver
was transported by ambulance to the Cache Valley Hospital and then airlifted to
a Salt Lake Area hospital where his status is listed as critical. The investigation revealed that the injuries
had not been the result of a vehicle crash.
The female passenger Amanda Lee Hoyt of North Logan had been shot
multiple times. The driver, Christian A. Emerson of
Smithfield, is suspected of shooting Ms. Hoyt and then turning the gun on
himself. This case is still under
investigation.
